Seahorses Carved In Limestone – Stuart Blower
One of the perks of being a photographer, is to be able jo apply those skills to your own art work. The curving form of the seahorse needed more than a simple product shot. It literally begged for motion.
By placing the statue onto a rotating platform and lighting it for shadows and three dimensional effects, I was able to move the camera at the same time I was recording the rotation, so that all sides of the piece were displayed with moving shadows accenting the form of the seahorses.
Both the the physical art and the lighting with its shadows change to present a continous movement.
