I have been involved with cameras since I was 10 years old, when a class trip with the family brownie (12 exposures) started me on my long association with photography. At 16, I developed passport pictures in my basement to pay for my first SLR camera and extra lens. In 1975, I was hired as a full time staff photographer for a Metroland newspaper and finally promoted to the chief photographer.
I saw the advantages of digital technologies, very early in my career and became a digital imaging and production consultant for Flexo and Offset printers as well as Web printers. I have mentored as a publisher and provided digital consultation and training for newspapers and graphics departments.
I have been a Graphics Instructor for a private College where I also taught Project Management. Although I currently carve stone, available for Art sales or Commission, I also provide specialty photo coverage for Public and Private Events, Corporate Imaging needs and Music & Stage Performers.
It has been a long journey from film to digital. The tools may change, but there is no substitute for actual shooting experience! Today I continue to work with the latest digital cameras and software, always learning and always trying to do more.
